What if the roof insulation is thicker than 250 mm?

The upstand of a Staka roof access hatch is 330 mm high. The thickness of the roof insulation may not exceed 250 mm, to ensure that the upstand extends far enough above it.

If the roof insulation is thicker than 250 mm, we recommend mounting the roof access hatch on an architectural upstand. This could be made of wood or concrete, for example. The roofing material must extend all the way up to the bottom of the weather cornice.
