Staka TopAccess Roof hatches for Feringa Building Groningen (NL)

Last October, Staka produced and supplied five TopAccess Roof Hatches (TOP249) for the Feringa Building, the new building for the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Groningen (NL).

Account manager Hammou Houssaine explains: “The roof hatches that we produced and supplied for this project are 2.40 by 90 cm in size and made of stainless steel. By using very high-quality materials and a unique insulation value of U = 0.21 W/m2K, heat loss through roof openings is maximally reduced with these TopAccess roof hatches”

Safe roof access

The roof hatches allow safe access to the roof. “This can be necessary for maintenance or inspection, for example of the solar panels. Our roof hatches provide a piece of valuable safety to roof access. Instead of via a ladder on the outside of the building, you can enter the roof via the roof hatch. At the same time, it is possible to take larger (maintenance) equipment upstairs.”

Own production on Dutch soil

Staka produces roof hatches from its own production location in Oosterhout, North Brabant (NL). “Because manage our own production process from A to Z, we can adapt quickly, and our delivery times are short. The roof hatches, which were installed by Ballast Nedam Bouw & Ontwikkeling at the Feringa Building, are of Dutch origin.”
